Special Needs Trusts

Individuals with special needs, whether they be physical, psychiatric or intellectual disabilities can often be particularly vulnerable. With the challenges inherent in special needs, adding unnecessary financial pressures can bring families to the breaking point. As such, people with special needs and their families and caretakers are especially reliant on the rights afforded under the law to live comfortable and fulfilling lives.

A Special Needs Trust (SNT) is powerful and important tool when planning for the needs of individuals with disabilities.  The funds in a properly established SNT can be used to supplement public aid and assistance – such as Supplemental Security Income and Medicaid – without disqualifying the beneficiary from receiving funds from government programs. This can make all the difference between living comfortably and struggling to make ends meet.
